The following may be helpful to LEO and EMDs regarding the qualifications and standard preparation of the BSAR team and its members:

Callout:  The BSAR team responds to requests for volunteer services by law enforcement agencies or Emergency Management personnel.  We can be activated by a team pageout via:  (910) 754-0898  or  contact through our local C-Comm in Brunswick County, North Carolina.

BSAR follows industry standard....maintaining the highest of training and preparation standards.   We are covered by Workmans Compensation and have a proven record of compliance with training standards and certifications.

How to Request our Services:   FOR LEO or EMD Callout

Please contact our team pager:  910-754-0898.

All callouts must come through an official request to our team Chief or Asst. Chief.  This ensures that our members are dispatched appropriately and covered with our Workman's Compensation Insurance.  Our members do not self-deploy or respond to requests by other individuals.  They are deployed by our team leaders only, so please be sure you have contacted our dispatch personnel for services.

Since rosters tend to change from time to time, this ensures that you are receiving services from a qualified, certified and insurance covered Brunswick Search and Rescue team member.

All BSAR members dispatched to searches are compliant with ICS/Homeland Security Requirements, meet NC State Emergency Management requirements, NC SAR Council Recommendations for operational status and are fully certified through SAR Classes, training and Team Canine Certification.

In addition, our canine teams maintain team and state certification standards recertifying every two years.   Canines normally train multiple times per month and document their training.

All members are CPR/First Aide certified, are certified as Search and Rescue Technicians,  and receive regular training to maintain their operational status.
