August 11, 2009.......Vincent Albert Jodice died at the age of 75.  Vince was a member of BSAR for five years and was the original communications officer, radio programmer, ham expert, and loving Santa of our team.  Vince was born on Septembr 1, 1933 and has left an outstanding legacy. 
He will be missed.

K9 Viper

The Brunswick Search and Rescue Team sends its condolences to the
Brunswick County Sheriff's Office
upon the loss of K9 Officer Viper this past weekend.
K9 Viper served with the K9 Unit and handler Dep. Zeller and died in the line of duty.
Our hearts and prayers are with Dep. Zeller, the K9 Unit and the Department.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office lost a dedicated K-9 this weekend
during a drug investigation.

On Sunday, July 17th the Drug Enforcement Unit was investigating subjects in the Ash area. At approximately7:30pm, K-9 Viper and his handler Deputy Jared Zeller were utilized on an article search for a large amount of cocaine. Upon locating the drugs, K-9 viper was exposed to dangerous chemicals that led to a severe reaction.
K-9 handler Zeller attempted to transport Viper to an emergency veterinarian hospital,
Four Paws, in Southport where K-9 Viper was pronounced deceased.

The Sheriff's Office has lost a truly amazing K-9 in the line of duty.
Sheriff Ingram and Viper's fellow co-workers are honored to have worked with a true hero.
