We are happy that you have an interest in volunteering for the Brunswick Search and Rescue
Team. We are all volunteers and look forward to working with you. In order to become a BSAR member.....you MUST: --Be age 18 or over --Have a desire to volunteer your time and energy to find missing persons --Be willing to get up in the middle of a dinner or in the middle of the night to respond to a callout --Be willing to work in the woods, briars, around snakes, wild animals, at night, in the rain, and any other environmental condition which might present it self during a missing person search. Of course, we do not put a person in grave danger... --Have reliable transportation and the ability to respond to searches --Be in good physical health.... --Be willing to take FUNSAR...a two weekend course with an overnight campout the second weekend --Be willing to attend team trainings and other activities --Be willing to take a First aide course and a CPR course and keep the certification up to date --Be willing to take online classes such as ICS 100, 200, 700 and present your certificate to the team --Have a clean criminal record and a clean driving history. --Ready to participate in a most fulfilling and satisfying job that may one day save a life. Attach a driving records check. Then submit this packet to a team member for consideration. You will then be contacted to arrange a brief interview, and if accepted onto our team, become a probationary member and begin your training!! The packet included here will provide you with a list of minimum equipment and other SAR information. Click here for APP PACKET. We do not accept applicants who have a criminal record.
Please speak with a board member if you may have a special situation you would like considered. To complete the Criminal Records Check: 1.
Go to your local law enforcment or sheriff department and request an FBI fingerprint card and prints to be done. 2. Mail the prints directly, with a check for $18, to the FBI. 3. Upon receipt of your record, attach to your BSAR application. You will also need to go to the drivers license offices to request a state drivers license check. This should be attached to your application also.
