BSAR is a volunteer organization comprised of volunteers from all walks of life.  We are  teachers, nurses, doctors, small business owners, housewives, law enforcement officers, paramedics, firemen, and retired persons.  We are people with a common goal of helping the lost or missing person and their families.

BSAR members are prepared as seachers by taking many classes, seminars, workshops, exercises, and weekly training sessions.  Their search skills include survival skills, map reading, navigation, first aide, CPR, Incident Command Classes such as ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, Hazardous materials, helicopter operations, search management, search strategy, clue awareness, communications, and canine handling, among  other areas.  They have taken classes such as the Fundamentals of Search and Rescue, Advanced Search and Rescue, Managing the Lost Person Incident, Canine First Aide, Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Map Reading, Step-by-Step Tracking and many others.  BSAR members recognize that Workmans Compensation Insurance and a commitment to team standards, operating procedures and nationwide protocols are critical to working with other agencies and organizations in a professional manner.  We are dedicated to providing quality services and maintaining our professionalism by adhering to industry standards.  Our team members must adhere to our stringent policies and maintain all of their certifications in order to serve as a BSAR searcher.  We do not self-deploy and respond only to requests by law enforcement agencies or emergency management personnel.  We do this so that others may live.

Our Goals
To provide trained resources to assist in searching for lost or missing persons.
To provide educational programs aimed at teaching children "how not to get lost" and "what to do IF you become lost".
